FREE 45 MINUTE CONSULTATION - We’ll talk about the kind of support you’re looking for, your child’s interests and passions, and any learning challenges. This is a great time to review school assignments and expectations.

10+ years of experience has given me insight into various situations, and I can offer support that suits your specific situation. I work with families to advocate for your student at school if needed; I am more than happy to work directly with your child’s teacher(s).

My goal is to make everyone’s life a little bit easier with the whole-brain approach, meeting your child where they are cognitively and emotionally.

MENTORING -
Offer your child individually-tailored, thought-provoking enrichment. This may include taking a break from media and going on nature walks to identify edible and medicinal plants and creating an ethnobotanical journal; Perhaps creating an art or science project based on your child’s interests; Or practicing the art of permaculture and/or ancestral skills: designing & planting a garden, learning to cook, making a first-aid kit with homemade salves and remedies, weaving, fire-by-friction. The options are endless!

ACADEMIC ALCHEMY -
A package ideal for the homeschooling family (can be tailored for children needing extra support in a traditional school or charter school situations).

Over the course of a month we will work together to create a customized learning plan that meets deadlines and works with your schedule. Building upon a foundation of trust and confidence and in-depth knowledge of their interests (as taught by the student), further confidence-building exercises are integrated followed by cultivation of skills to harness the inspiration and motivation to tackle challenging academic material. Learning something new means taking a risk, and we all feel better about taking risks when we know we are safe. When your child feels safe, there will be less resistance, and they will be more open to making mistakes. This is when real learning happens.

ADVOCACY -
Do you want someone to take over the task of emailing and/or talking with your child’s teachers and/or administration, following up about late assignment policies, negotiating workload, or understanding unclear expectations? I have experience working in the school system, and I understand the struggles of an overwhelmed teacher, with too many students, too many assignments to grade, and too many emails to read. I also know the experience of being an overwhelmed, overstimulated student with a highly sensitive nervous system. I am here to bridge the gap.
In an effort to make everyone’s lives more wonderful, I approach every conversation with the diplomatic tools of non-violent communication.

CANCELLATION POLICY -
If I need to cancel a session, I will always try to let you know 2 weeks in advance. If I am sick, I will always prioritize your child’s wellness and cancel our session 24 hours in advance.
I often run a very busy schedule and ask that you give a minimum of a 24 hour advance notice if you need to cancel. In the event that you do not honor this policy, I will require payment for the scheduled session before we are able to reschedule.
