Foothills to Sea Beach Camp
Are you looking for a short beach retreat, away from the Sierra foothills, for you and your family?
If you like camping on the sand, playing in gentle waves, building sandcastles, telling stories around the campfire, and listening to the sounds of the ocean while you sleep, this camp is for you!
This is my fourth summer traveling to the coast with families from the foothills, and I look forward to it every year! Due to extenuating circumstances, this year’s camp is a last-minute event, but maybe you and your family needed a spontaneous Nevada County family camp-out at the beach?
Space is very limited this year… there are two reserved tent campsites.
I will be facilitating fun activities for kids during the day, from 9-11am and 2-4pm. These activities will include games, fitness training, solar oven cooking, sandcastle-building, and storytelling. Each family is responsible for bringing their own camping gear and food. There will be a potluck dinner Saturday and/or Sunday night.
The campground is on a man-made jetty with the Pacific Ocean on the south side and Bodega Bay on the north side. This is a great place to go fishing - bring your fishing gear!
As always, I will have an extra foam-top surfboard with me and will be offering one-on-one or small group surf lessons at a reduced rate compared to nearby surf shops. My lessons include a board, but you will need to bring your own wetsuit. Wetsuit rentals are available for very reasonable rates at nearby surf shops.
